MUKAH: The Sarawak Malay Economy Chamber (Dekoms) has never appointed any individual or agent to help members apply for loans particularly those related to the Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme.

This was clarified by its president Bujang Boji Sitam during a talk entitled “Entrepreneurship: Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme (SMKS)” at Dewan Suarah Mesra here yesterday.

Mukah Division Resident Hamdiah Bakir, who represented Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo officiated at the event, which was organised by Dekoms in collaboration with Agrobank Sarawak Region.

According to Bujang, it was claimed that the individual or agent concerned could help members to apply loan from Agrobank, with a guarantee of 100 percent approval.

“Dekoms has no middleman,” he stressed adding that, if any member comes across such an individual or agent, a report should be made to Dekoms Mukah Division.

He also revealed that Dekoms was approved by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on February 4, 2020.

Meanwhile, Dekoms Mukah Division chief coordinator Ali Hassan Jajol in his welcoming address said the programme was organised for the first time for members in Mukah Division.
