MIRI: A female nurse lost RM6,462 to a non-existent loan scam.

District police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the incident happened around 11.55am on Oct 25 when the victim received a Whatsapp message from a suspect named ‘Anggel’ from Cashe Credit Sdn Bhd.

In the message, the suspect offered the victim a loan package from his company by enclosing the schedule.

“The victim was interested in taking a RM15,000 loan with a monthly payment of RM185 for 10 years.

“In order for her to get the loan, the victim was asked by the suspect to make payments for RM6,462 involving six transactions into three bank accounts,” he said.

After the payments were made, the victim was promised that within 30 minutes, the loan money would be credited into her Bank Rakyat account.

Lim added ever since the police report was lodged, the victim had yet to receive her loan money.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
