One new cluster announced

KUCHING: The State Health Department declared the emergence of a new Covid-19 cluster on Sunday (Sept 19).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the cluster dubbed the Jalan Taman Raja cluster is a workplace cluster involving workers of an eatery at King’s Commercial Park in Miri.

Out of 151 people screened, 24 people including the index case tested positive for Covid-19 and 30 individuals tested negative.

Ninety-seven of them are still waiting for test results, and the cluster recorded two new cases yesterday (Sept 19), said SDMC in its daily statement.

“All Covid-19 positive cases were admitted to nearby hospitals and low-risk treatment centres (PKRC) in Miri district,” it said.

At the same time, the committee announced the end of three clusters, namely Peligong Cluster in Saratok, as well as the Tanjung Tuang Cluster and Bandar Riyal Cluster in Samarahan.

“Sixteen out of the 136 active clusters in the state recorded a total of 67 new cases while the other 120 clusters did not record any case additions,” said SDMC.

Meanwhile, SDMC said that a total of 23 localities have been put under enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

It included Rumah (Rh) Padang Melang and Rh Niau Nanang in Bintulu, as well as Rh Karong Unbam and Rh Ahkow Kubu in Tatau which will undergo EMCO from Sept 17 to Sept 30.

Rh Ngumbang Achak in Tatau, and four localities in Sri Aman namely Rh Jiram, Rh Tuang, Rh Lewis, and Rh Chuan will undergo EMCO from Sept 17 to Sept 27.

Three localities in Sri Aman namely Rh Jatin, Rh Marphy, and Rh John; as well as three localities in Lubok Antu, namely Rh Ayum, Rh Tungku, and Rumah Abil, will undergo EMCO from Sept 19 to Sept 28.

At the same time, four localities namely Rh John Ukok, Rh Panggau, Rh Minang and Rh Joseph in Pakan, as well as Rh Tugang in Limbang and Rh Selat in Meradong will also undergo EMCO from Sept 19 to Sept 28.

Meanwhile, two localities in Marudi namely SK Benawa in Marudi will undergo EMCO from Sept 17 to Sept 28, while Rh Judan Selin will undergo EMCO from Sept 19 to Sept 29.

The committee also announced the EMCO in 16 localities in Sri Aman, Bintulu, Sebauh, Tatau, Lundu, Kuching, Lubok Antu, and Pakan have ended yesterday (Sept 19).

The EMCO in Bintulu district ended at Rh Alih Nyawin, Kunci Raya workers’ quarters, Grandee Development Sdn Bhd workers’ quarters, Workshop Iron Head workers’ quarters, SK Lifestyle workers’ quarters, and rental rooms above Heng Huat Hin Furniture.

Meanwhile, EMCO in the Pakan district ended at Rh Guntor, Rh Matu, Rh Christina, and Rh Liman.

EMCO also ended in Rh Tarang in Sri Aman, Rh Mebak Agi in Sebauh, Rh Sengalang Unggat, Kampung Selampit 1 & 2 in Lundu, Kampung Tanjung Bako in Kuching, and Rh Jabu, Skrang in Lubok Antu.
