KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty orphans from Rumah Perlindungan Nur Hati were treated to a specially designed buka puasa programme by virtual mobile network operator OneXOX at Mydin Subang Jaya Hypermarket, here recently.

The children had a delightful time as they were brought around shopping for Raya clothes and given ‘duit raya’ before they tucked into a sumptuous dinner.

The welfare home also received a donation of RM5,000.

OneXOX chief executive officer Bobie Farid Shamsudin who welcomed the underprivileged children expressed the importance of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) to his company’s long-term business sustainability.

“Such charitable activities are indeed part of OneXOX’s social responsibility. We think that activities like this should be held as part of the efforts of every corporate company because what is gained is not only for the company, but also benefits the community around us.

“We took this opportunity to establish and further strengthen ties with the residents of Rumah Perlindungan Nur Hati and Mydin through this activity. It is the smile and positivity shown by the children that motivate us to continue our responsibilities through activities like this. We look forward to doing more collaborations with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in future,” he said.

The buka puasa programme is OneXOX’s first collaboration with Rumah Perlindungan Nur Hati, an NGO that houses and cares for single mothers, the poor and young orphans.

OneXOX, which exclusively carries the ONEXOX brand to market XOX products with a distinctive mobile service plan, holds its CSR events on a regular basis yearly and had previously organised activities with NGOs.
