KUCHING:  Sarawak Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Ministry has distributed 177,893 packs of food to frontliners from 16 agencies for the last one week, said its minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah today.

She said additional food packs were also distributed yesterday for police personnel as additional staff had been deployed to beef up the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in the state.

“Apart from food, as requested by our medical frontliners from SGH (Sarawak General Hospital), we are providing resting rooms for them at Riverside Majestic Hotel and as of yesterday, 50 rooms were used by 120 doctors, nurses, assistant medical officers and drivers,” she said in a WhatsApp post.

Fatimah, who is currently on a 14-day home self-quarantine after being directed by the Health Department since Wednesday afternoon, said her ministry had been carrying out the food pack distribution since March 24. – Bernama
