KUCHING: A quick-thinking car owner prevented total destruction to his vehicle parked at Taman Banquet Square, Batu Kawah here this morning.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from the Batu Lintang station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 4.30 am.
However, the owner had extinguished the fire before the firefighters arrived.
The fire caused 30 per cent damage to the back part of the car.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
