SELANGOR: The Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) Selangor committee members have unanimously decided not to contest the upcoming Selangor state election.

In a press statement today, the party said this decision was made during a special meeting on March 17 with its president, Datuk Larry Sng Wei.

“In line with the decision, the party will give our full support to the Madani government and Selangor state government, led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

“We believe that the Madani government is the best platform to bring about important political stability in the process of developing the state economy.

“Since it’s setting up, the Madani government has made a visible success of promoting harmony and achievements, and we in PBM want to ensure that the positive momentum is not interrupted,” said the statement.

It added that PBM Selangor was also taking the opportunity to blast at some opposition parties that have consistently spurred racial disharmony for the sake of political mileage without considering the long-term social and economic consequences of their irresponsible actions.

According to them, as a political party that holds to the “Bangsa Malaysia” principle, they do not support hatred and discrimination, which are against Malaysian values.

Hence, it said, to uphold the “Bangsa Malaysia” principles and idealism, PBM Selangor has directed its election machinery to voluntarily assist the Madani government to safeguard all seats in Selangor.
