Premier holds investment meeting in Dubai

KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg held a meeting with Mubadala Investment Company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to explore avenues for collaboration between the Sarawak government and Mubadala.

According to a post on TVS Facebook official wall on Wednesday, UAE Investments Platform chief executive officer (CEO) and Mubadala Investment Company Investment committee member Dr Bakheet Al Katheeri, Mubadala Investment Company CEO Shiekh Mansoor Al Hamed and UAE Ambassador to Malaysia His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri were among those who attended the meeting.

The Sarawak delegation, led by Abang Johari, comprised Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki, and other senior officials.

“The high-profile meeting delved into strategic partnerships to intensify Sarawak’s presence particularly focusing on the upstream, midstream and downstream aspects of the oil and gas industry.

“Additionally, discussions encompassed a thorough examination of corresponding adjustments on carbon projects under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, emphasising Sarawak’s commitment to sustainable practices,” the post said.

The meeting also delved into collaborative effort towards fostering enduring and impactful relationships in the energy sector.
