Abang Johari and wife arrival at Lau residence.

SIBU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang began their Chinese New Year visits in Sibu today with a visit to Chinese paramount leader, Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming, at Jalan Camar.

They were joined by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi and Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

Also among the visiting delegation were Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee and Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek.

Their arrival at 2.48pm was welcomed by Lau and his family. The visitors were entertained with a lion dance performance before proceeding to the house for cake cutting ceremony.

Abang Johari and wife also visited the residence of Pansar Group managing director Pemanca Datuk Jason Tai.

Abang Johari was scheduled to accompany the Head of State Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar to attend the Sibu United Chinese Association (UCA) Chinese New Year gathering at Kingwood Hotel last night.
