MIRI: A hearty meal often makes a person lazy, lethargic and sleepy. It’s the same with pythons, which is why the saying ‘like a python after swallowing’ to describe a person who says he feels lazy and sleepy after lunch or dinner.
And such a lazy, lethargic python was caught napping by a Pujut 4 resident on Thursday.
According to the resident, he came across the reptile all curled up in his chicken coop, apparently after a whole-chicken meal.
Despite knowing the habits of the snake after a heavy meal, he still called the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) for assistance.
When the APM personnel arrived, the snake was still fast asleep, and all they did was picked it up.
In less than 10 minutes, the reptile was on its way out of his property.
