SARIKEI: Although several village roads in the Repok state constituency have been upgraded, the government still needs to address many more in the area.

According to its assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, he is very concerned with the development of infrastructure in Sarikei including roads.

“I also want the residents of Sarikei to be able to indulge in an efficient and comfortable road.

“For this reason, we have upgraded tar-sealed and concrete roads at Jalan Lu San, Jalan Kim San as well as Jalan Tiong Ho.

“And so far, I am very satisfied with the upgrading works of these roads,” he said while inspecting the progress of the three roads’ upgrading works here, today.

He went on to say that, in addition to offering comfort to the people, the implementation of road upgrading projects in the rural areas also benefits the locals and smallholders in the area.

In the meantime, Huang said he believed development in Sarikei would intensify under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
