KUCHING: Police have set up roadblocks along four main roads and two “rat trails”, which are the entry points to Kampung Haji Baki here.
The village has been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting on Wednesday (Oct 28) until Nov 11 following an increase in Covid-19 cases in it.
Padawan District Police Chief Superintendent Aidil Bolhassan said the roadblocks involved 70 policemen, 24 Rela police personnel and 24 army personnel.
“Roadblocks have been erected at all entry points to the village while patrol teams are deployed to implement the EMCO since last night (Tuesday midnight).
“The roadblocks are erected at the routes in front of the traffic light of Kampung Haji Baki and two rat trails at Lorong 7A and Lorong 6C in Block A.
“Nobody are allowed to enter the village since the EMCO,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Aidil explained tht the two rat trails were motorcycle and pedestrian lanes located at Lorong 7A Block A and Lorong 6C Block A.
