KUCHING: Members of Kembara Anak Sarawak Club arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam yesterday to continue their expedition to reach the summit of Mount Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochinese peninsula.

According to the club’s president Yusuf Buji, the hikers left Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 6.10am to Noi Bai, Vietnam.

The expedition consisting of 30 climbers was expected to begin their ascent in the early morning today (July 28) from Lao Cai Sapa Valley, Vietnam.

“It will be exciting for the climbers to enjoy the magnificent scenery from a height of 3,143 metres above sea level,” he said.

Yusuf hoped the expedition would be a successful one to motivate its members to participate in more exciting expeditions in the future.

Aside from Yusuf, other members of the expedition are Evelin Ruman, Mohamad Zamahari Abdullah, Sri Amira Marset, Antonia Antonios, Mohd Khir Johari, Cynthia Francesca Biren, Madeline Ayom, Suriani Abd Latif, Nurul Aleena Ruman Abdullah, Dr Sara Azreen Azizul Rahman, Nurul Aini Mohamed Rosdi, Danny Jabing, Francis Dick, Dr Hanif Suffian, Mazlan Mohd Salleh, Lelawati Othman, Najib Jeman, Abg Arman Abg Ismail, Abd Aziz Drahman, Dyg Shamsinar Abg Shamsuddin, Dr Dyg Elena Maria Abg Draup, Fadilah Jais, Kannan Muniandi, Liam Belarek Bagly, Liyana Nabila Latif, Normala Suliaman, Lucy Hosea Drang, Catherine Saman and Jessica Ayom.
