KUCHING: Sarawakians are invited to come and enliven this year’s Kuching Festival organised by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).
Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also the Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister, said the festival would feature a lot of line-ups for performances and various stalls to serve the community.
“Kuching Festival is a celebration of Kuching City Day on August 1, 1988. In fact, it started two years earlier, by Mayor Datuk Song Swee Guan as former Kuching South mayor.
“For this year, Kuching Fest starts from July 28 until August 20 at the MBKS community hall, Jalan Padungan. We have 330 stalls and a lot of line-ups of events to be performed by local artists as well as our friendship cities from Korea and China.
“Therefore, I hope Sarawakians from inside and outside the state can join the festival with the local communities,” he said in his Facebook video posting yesterday.
He also congratulated MBKS for the perseverance and continuing to make Kuching Fest much better.
