Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases go up slightly

KUCHING: Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases increased slightly on Wednesday (April 13) to 295 from the previous day’s 245, taking the overall tally to 303,175.

Of the 295, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 288 cases were categories 1 and 2, while seven were categories 3, 4 and 5.

“There are 96 cases in Category 1 while 192 are in Category 2. Categories 3 and 4 each recorded two cases and three cases in Category 5.

“Kuching recorded the highest with 121 cases followed by 28 cases each in Bintulu and Miri, Sibu has 21 cases, 16 in Matu and 10 in Samarahan.”

Serian had eight cases, seven in Simunjan, Limbang and Kapit each had six cases and Bau and Lubok Antu each recorded five cases.

There were four cases each in Pusa and Mukah, three cases each in Saratok and Belaga, while Subis, Dalat, Sarikei, Betong, Marudi, Kanowit and Tatau each with two cases.

Sri Aman, Lundu, Asajaya, Lawas, Julau and Daro each recorded one case.

SDMC also said there were no additional cases recorded in four active clusters.

“There were 10 compounds issued in Kuching District for failing to register at premises through the MySejahtera app, bringing the total compounds to 13,832.”
