KUCHING: The first and new technology of ICT facility will be implemented by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Satok constituency.

The programme will  be mainly to collect data of the residents in different housing schemes and villages in Satok by the village chiefs in the area.

“This will enable village chiefs to monitor the activities of the community in Satok as Satok is located in the middle of the city.

“Hence, this allows residents from outside of Satok and even foreigners to trade.”

This was stated by the Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg during the Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri organized by the N.8 Satok Neighbourhood Watch at Padang SLPS, yesterday.

Johari said that the system is essential as it will monitor the ongoing development in the constituency, and at the same time will determine the performance of the constituency as a whole.

“For example, after the completion of Bintangor bridge, it was mapped on the Internet and hence brought benefits to the surrounding community.
