Six arrested for bike thefts, house burglary

MIRI: Police here on Tuesday solved at least six cases of motorcycle thefts and a house burglary with the arrest of six local men during a seven-hour raid at various locations here.

According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the suspects, aged between 20 and 51, were picked up from six different locations by the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) special task force.  

The raid, led by Inspector Fredly Juing, was conducted between 6.30am and 1.30pm.

Lim added four of the suspects had previous criminal records.

“We believe, with the arrests of these suspects, police have managed to solve six cases involving motorcycle thefts and burglary,” he said.

Also seized during the raid held on Wednesday (September 2) were an oven and a standing fan, believed to be stolen items.
