MUKAH: SJK© Chong Boon proved that they are the school to beat when they clean swept the junior titles of the Mukah Division volleyball championship which ended at SJK© Chong Boon and Mukah Indoor Stadium, here, on Saturday.

This Chinese primary school at Mukah old town emerged as champions of the Boys and Girls Under-12 categories.

First and second runners-up in the Boys category were SK SLDB No.3 and SK St Patrick respectively.

For the Girls Under-12, SK St Patrick finished second while SK Kampung Jebungan were third.

With the double titles, the school’s domination in the sport remained intact in the division. Moreover, the school has produced a number of state and national players in the past one decade,.

SMK St Patrick won the Boys Under-18 title while first and second runners-up were respectively SMK Three Rivers and MARA Junior Science College Mukah (MRSM Mukah).

SMK Three Rivers were the Girls Under-18th champions followed by SMK St Patrick and MRSM Mukah respectively.

An officer from Mukah District Education Office, Sarkawi officiated at the closing ceremony.

Also present were Chong Boon headmistress, Teo Ai Geok, PPD Mukah sports supervisor, Kueh Peng Soon and the participating schools representatives.
