SM Chung Hua No. 1’s Theodore Ho wins DBP crossword contest

KUCHING: In conjunction with the Intellect Carnival, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak is organising numerous linguistic and literary activities.

The carnival takes place from June 18 to 26 and is also one of the 45th anniversary celebration programmes of Sarawak DBP.

On Tuesday (June 21), the Sarawak Level Private Secondary Schools and Chinese Private Secondary Schools Crossword Competition was held at Balai Budaya, Sarawak DBP.

A total of 21 students from Chung Hua Secondary School No. 1 and Chung Hua Secondary School No. 3 took part.

The winner was Theodore Ho Sze Rui while the first runner-up was Darren Wong Wim Hon. Nicole Lian Xin Zhi
finished third. All are from SM Chung Hua No. 1.

The consolation places went to Jeanette Kho Yu Zhen, also from SM Chung Hua No. 1, and Kho Lian Chou
from SM Chung Hua No. 3.

There was a colouring competition at the Tadika, Taska and Tabika levels organised by the Malay Documentation Centre, Sarawak DBP.
