KUCHING: A soldier died after he lost control of his motorcycle which skidded and crashed near Abell Road roundabout 4am yesterday.
State traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said Mohamad Mahatir Md Isa, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“Mohamad’s head was severely injured,” he said when contacted yesterday. He added that the body had been taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
According to him, it was raining when the accident happened, so it is believed that Mohamad’s bike skidded due to the wet and slippery condition.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
