KUCHING: The Song community mourns the loss of former Katibas assemblyman Datuk Seri Ambrose Blikau Enturan.

Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan shared how the late Blikau played a big role in keeping unity within the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) during the challenging political times of the 1980s.

“Even today, Song’s people remember and honour him. He transformed Song from an isolated area to the thriving place it is now,” Lidam said today (Sept 9).

He said that the late Blikau introduced him to politics in the 1990s. Back then, he was the head of a sub-branch and later served in the PBB Katibas branch.

“He was a mentor to me. He once told me, ‘Parties last, even if politicians change.’ That advice stays with me,” Lidam expressed, sending his and his family’s deepest condolences to the late family.

He passed away today (Sept 9) at the age of 70 due to lung infection at Normah Medical Specialist Centre.

The late Blikau retired from active politics in 2021 and did not defend the Katibas seat in the 12th State Election that year.
