SERIAN: Sarawak will continue efforts to pursue its rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), said Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Syed Aman Ghazali.

The Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) said she was satisfied with what has been agreed on regarding MA63 during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Sarawak two weeks ago.

She hailed the RM300 million special grant given to Sarawak saying it is a fair amount for the state.

“The special grant to Sarawak is just the beginning, thanks to Premier (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) for bringing this for discussion under the supervision of our Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

“The process will go smoothly and we will continue the work with further detailing of our rights that need to be returned to us,” said Sharifah Hasidah.

She said this after attending the Seberkas Prihatin Khas programme at Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) Serian in conjunction with Saberkas Golden Jubilee celebration, today (Feb 1)
