KUCHING: A total of 700 packets of roti canai were distributed to the public by Cats FM along the Sarawak River near the Old Court building from 4pm to 6pm today.

Previously, Cats FM and Baba’s — a brand synonymous with spices, curry powders, flours and pre-mixes — distributed a total of 500 packets of bubur pedas (spicy porridge) at the Demak Baru Mosque here on April 30.

Cats FM integrated programme and marketing manager Christopher Boreh said the programme is a combined effort of Antap Breakfast and Baba’s crew members during the month of Ramadan in line with its theme of ‘Barakah Ramadhan’ meaning to give alms and to do charity.

“Although we (Cats FM) had reduced our activities in public places due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we strive to continue visiting and handing out donations to the less fortunate such as the homeless, those with disabilities, and single mothers.

“Each activity is carried out in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce the risk of Covid-19 such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance as well as the limited involvement of crews,” he added.
