SPAOH: All rural transformation projects (RTP) that were halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic should commence construction once the country enters the endemic phase.

Deputy Minister for Community Wellbeing Development Mohammad Razi Sitam said the RTP projects were initiatives by the Sarawak government to change the landscape of rural areas.

“However, the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the implementation of many of those projects.

“There are RTP projects for 2020 in Saribas constituency that have not been completed, and some have not even begun.

“With the transition to endemic phase, the delayed projects can be continued to ensure that the community benefits from the development facilities provided by a caring government,” he explained.

Razi, who is Saribas assemblyman made the remarks at an Aidilfitri ramah-tamah co-hosted by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and his service centre at the Kampung Serembang multipurpose hall.

“Congratulations and thank you for everyone’s cooperation and also for the support of all parties in strengthening friendship, particularly the entire Saribas community in remaining united under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak government.

“At the same time, we can prove that there is no division and I hope the people remain steadfast and united,” he said.

Several activities were held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri do, including a baju Raya fashion competition, karaoke, religious chanting, decorative lights, badminton, futsal and telematch.
