KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) in Kuching will be closed to the public following the updated standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) as of Aug 13.

However, the ones in Sibu and Miri are still open to the public as usual.

In a statement released by Pustaka, it said that the book loan period will be extended until the library reopens.

“In the meantime, please use our BookBear Book Loan Service which is available from 9am to 5pm except on public holidays while research at the State Records Repository is available by appointment.

“Our library and repository online services are also available 24 hours, 7 days a week and for any questions please contact our call officer,” it said in a statement on Monday (Aug 16).

The public can contact Nur Ashikin Ahmad (011-10850191) and Norzihan Abdullah (019-8899424) from the Communication Unit; Reference Librarian Rozana Octovia (013-8044220) and State Records Repository officer Dorithy Dela and Lawrence (013-8098807).

Pustaka also reminded that the latest information can be accessed on social media and the Sarawak State Library’s website (www.pustaka-sarawak.com).
