State now has 365,000 Rela members

MIRI: Sarawak now has 365,000 People’s Volunteer Corps or Rela members.

“Of all the Rela forces in Malaysia, Sarawak Rela is the most active,” revealed Rela deputy director-general (Operations) Kamarudin Mohd Rapi during the Hari Raya gathering celebration for Rela members here on Saturday night.

Commending Rela Sarawak for its strong unity, he said the Rela forces in Malaysia comprised various races and reflected the country’s unity.

At the event, Kamarudin advised the Rela members to embrace unity. He also presented welfare contributions to them.

Also present were Rela Sarawak director Rini Tupong, Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah and nearly 200 Rela members from the Northern Region.
