Stricter SOPs for Sarawak

KUCHING: Following the spike in Covid-19 cases, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), announced stricter standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the conditional movement control order (CMCO) effective today (May 25) until June 7.

The committee said movements between the Kuching, Serian, Lundu and Bau zones are permitted only for those with police permits for essential services, work, and emergencies only.

Meanwhile, those who work in the four zones are excused from the mandatory swab test every 14 days and may obtain police permit by submitting a letter from their employer.

It also noted that operating hours for all sectors are authorised from 6 am until 8 pm.

Furthermore, only three people are allowed in a private vehicle and public transportations are only permitted to operate at 50 percent passenger capacity.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to be out in public and open or crowded places unless they have a valid reason.

As for the scanning of the MySejahtera app, premises operators have to ensure that only low-risk individuals are allowed to enter their premises.

Employee attendance capacity in the public sector is limited to 20 percent (excluding frontliners) with the remaining have to work from home (WFH), while for private-sector, workforce capacity is capped at 60 percent.

It also noted that any face-to-face meetings are not allowed.

All sports activities for training and organisational purposes are prohibited, as well as competitions and tournaments including all public sports and leisure activities except for jogging and exercise which must be performed individually.
