KUCHING: Sarawak United FC (SUFC) picked up another win in the Super League on Wednesday, and new manager Muliadi Awang Matsri is a happy man.

He also believed that the 2-1 win over Sri Pahang FC in Kuantan would play a crucial role in team consistency.

“It’s a good win. The players are finding their rhythm,” he told Arena Suara Sarawak. “They kept on fighting even though we were a goal down.”

Sri Pahang took the lead in the first half through Argentina’s Federico Hidalgo Gasparini in the 48th minute of stoppage time.

SUFC later equalised through Nur Shamie Iszuan Amin in the 55th minute and Uche Agba scored the winner via a penalty kick in the 73rd minute.

Victory sees SUFC moving up to 10th place, collecting seven points after eight matches played so far. Sri Pahang are eighth, also with seven points but having only played seven games.

Next up, SUFC will take on giants JDT in the second round of the FA Cup this Saturday in Johor.
