MUKAH: There is sufficient supply of face masks here and are readily available at business outlets and pharmacies.
This is good news for the people as they brace for the compulsory use of face masks from Aug 1 set by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus.
New Sarawak Tribune found that face masks were readily available in town yesterday.
“Yes, I have a good supply of face masks at my shop,” said a proprietor of a stationery shop, identified only as Ting.
It is learned that there was a low demand for face masks here in the last one month or so, because Mukah was categorised as a green zone. On July 23, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Saberi Yaakob said the government would make it mandatory for the public to wear face masks in public places and other crowded public areas from Aug 1, in view of the increasing number of new Covid-19 cases in the country of late.
