SIBU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) held its third mini convention at Kingwood Hotel here today. The first and second ones were held in Miri and Betong on Sept 5 and Sept 26 respectively.

The gathering themed on prioritising Sarawak rights and empowering development (Hak Sarawak Diutamakan, Pembangunan Diperkasakan) was attended by some 1,200 participants consisting 951 official representatives from all Sibu PBB branches and other delegates.

The main focus was the presentation of working papers on key issues and emphasis on efforts to give exposure and knowledge pertaining to preparations needed to face the coming state election.

Secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is also the organising chairman, said “We want them to be equipped with knowledge of PBB and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)’s struggles and policies. We also want them to know how crucial it is for GPS to be accorded a fresh mandate to ensure continuity of development.”

Photo-journalist for New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak, Ghazali Bujang, was at the assembly. The following are among what he saw through his lenses.
