Three lorries seized for illegally transporting rocks

KUCHING: The Land and Survey Department enforcement unit has successfully thwarted attempts to illegally transport rocks in Bintulu.

The unit also seized three lorries, believed to have been used in carrying out the illegal activity, as exhibits.

Disclosing this yesterday, the department’s public relations department said its enforcement unit had discovered the illegal operation while patrolling the area.

The case will be investigated under Section 32A of the Land Code (Chapter 81).

Meanwhile, the department advised any member of the public wanting to carry out any activity involving the removal

or transportation of rocks, to get prior advice from its nearest office.
