KUCHING: Three members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in Sarawak were suspended by the party’s disciplinary bureau yesterday.

They are Baharuddin Mohksen and Nurhanim Mohksen from Petra Jaya branch and Abdul Raafidin Majidi from Sibu branch.

The disciplinary bureau is currently reviewing every complaint and evidence against them and will recommend further action to the PKR central leadership.

According to PKR Sarawak chairman Larry Sng Wei Shien, Abdul Raafidin was recently appointed as state coordinator of Pemuda Negara, a group aligned with Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He said Nurhanim is a special officer to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government under Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Azmin and Zuraida, who were the party’s former deputy president and vice-president respectively, were sacked from the party on Feb 24 following their roles in the Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel which led to speculation about efforts to form a backdoor government.

When asked to confirm the reasons for suspension of the three members, Larry said the party’s disciplinary bureau had the details.

“I suspect they betrayed the party. Those who betray PKR get suspended or sacked,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

The three individuals were among 285 members who have been suspended by the party.

So far, 348 members have been sacked by the party. Of that number, 34 were in Sarawak. They included See Chee How (Stampin) and Vernon Albert Kedit (Betong).
