THE hydrogen bus initiative by the Sarawak government must continue as it benefits the people in the long run.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting (pic) said this in response to Sarawak Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s remarks that the hydrogen bus operation should be scrapped.

“How about the third national car project by the federal government? He never questioned it,” he said.

Ting said when the previous production of the national car, a lot of money had also been spent but Chong never said a thing about this.

“What did he say on that? Has he said anything? No!”

In the meantime, in response to Chong’s remarks that the State 2020 Budget could lead to another 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, Ting said he was puzzled as to how Chong could come out with such a statement.

“The budget covers all aspects, including infrastructure and development of rural areas.

“Nobody will believe what Chong has said. Because people will see for themselves what has been allocated,” he pointed out.
