SIBU: Operations are being carried out to ensure that the people and business sector fully complies with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) period.

Sibu Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department head DSP Ariffin Bahar said the focus of the operations were on SOP protocols such as customer registration by scanning via the MySejahtera app or writing down details on a logbook, checking of body temperatures, the usage of hand sanitisers and face masks, physical distancing as well as inspection of goods.

“The whole purpose is to ensure that the community adheres strictly to the SOPs aimed at breaking the chain of Covid-19,” Ariffin said to reporters during the operation at Jalan Sentral here today.

He said the operation would be done three times a week until the CMCO period ends on March 15.

“However, if it is extended, the SOP compliance team will continue to work as well,” he added.
