KUCHING: TVS will broadcast its TVS Live Konsert Berkat Gawai to enliven the upcoming Gawai Dayak celebration.

The programme will mostly feature Dayak artistes.

Dancers and artistes lined up for the 75-minute concert include sape maestro Jerry Kamit, award winning artistes such as Winnie Albert, Carrie Geres and Leezwita Ripin; Datuk Zamry, Justine Jarop Joseph and the Ngasi dancers (ngajat performers from the Iban community).

According to its statement yesterday, the concert hopes to restore the liveliness of the Gawai Dayak celebration after a three-year hiatus due to the country being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“TVS is very pleased to be able to host the TVS Live Konsert Berkat Gawai programme for the first time on TVS,” it said.

The concert will be screened on the first day of the Gawai Dayak celebration on June 1 at 8.45 pm on TVS Channel 122 Astro and myFreeview.
