Two churches receive grants from Unifor

BINTULU: Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Church Rumah Gelayan and BEM Church Kelompok Kampung Senep in Tubau here recently received grants from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) amounting to RM180,000.

The cheques were presented to the churches today (Sept 30) by Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chuk Pai Ugon.

BEM Church Rumah Gelayan and BEM Church Kelompok Kampung Senep received RM100,000 and RM80,000 respectively.

Chuk Pai, in a brief speech, expressed hope that relevant parties could grab the opportunity and fully utlitise the funds given by Unifor.

He said the Sarawak coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg always cares about the welfare and wellbeing of all races and religions in the state.

Also present were Bintulu District BEM chairman Pastor Sem Rining and Bintulu District BEM deputy chairman Pastor Joseph Raja.
