Two VIP groups call on Taib

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received two courtesy visits at his official residence at Demak Jaya here on Tuesday.

The first visit was from Minister of Communication and Multimedia Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah and state Minister of Utilities Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

The purpose of the visit was to inform Taib about the coordination of the Malaysia Day 2020 celebration to be centred at Sibu Indoor Stadium, as well as to invite him to grace the event.

Shortly afterwards, Taib received another courtesy visit from the Chief Justice of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim.

This is Abang Iskandar’s first visit after his appointment as the new Chief Justice of Sabah and Sarawak on February 25.

During the visit, he informed Taib about the latest judicial affairs in Sabah and Sarawak.
