KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak’s Zakat, Sedekah and Wakaf Unit has organised a ‘Sumbangan Kasih Ramadan’ handover programme at three different locations yesterday (May 7).

“The three locations were SK Agama Ibnu Khaldun, Surau Al Hidayah at Kampung Plaie and Masjid Al-Qurawiyyin at UiTM Samarahan campus. The handover was graced by UiTM Sarawak rector Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali.

“A total number of 78 people — of which 30 were from SK Agama Ibnu Khaldun, 38 from Surau Al Hidayah and 10 from Masjid Al-Qurawiyyin — have benefited from the contributions of basic necessities such as rice, flour and sugar handed during the programme.

“The purpose of this programme is to help reduce the burden of the less fortunate, especially during this blessed month of Ramadan,” said UiTM Sarawak in its statement yesterday (May 7).

Also present during the programme were UiTM Sarawak senior deputy registrar Nor Amirudin Mokhtarudin; its Zakat, Sedekah and Wakaf Unit coordinator Ustaz Wan Ariffin Wan Yon; SK Agama Ibnu Khaldun headmaster Amir Ahmad Dewan and the school’s senior assistants; and Surau Al Hidayah chairman Johari Abdullah.
