More than 350 film submissions have been received from across Southeast Asia, the majority from Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

“From this big number of submissions, we have chosen the best as finalists and they will be screened from 10am to 6pm throughout the four-day festival, starting from May 21 to 24,” said festival programmer Yow Chong Lee.

Unimas in a media statement said those attending the screening would be able to see films from a wide range of genre ranging from comedy to horror, action to drama.

Award-winning Thai filmmaker Phuttiphong Aroonpheng, Heni Matalalang from Indonesia and Sheron Dayoc, a filmmaker from the Philippines, have been invited to be in the jury panel. Also, in the panel are Saw Teong Hin and Nova Goh from Malaysia.
