KUCHING: The ‘Let’s Read Together for 10 Minutes’ programme with the theme of ‘Reading Builds People’ was simultaneously implemented throughout Malaysia yesterday.

For this year’s event, the Sarawak State Library organised the programme at Centre Court, Majma Mall here from 10.30 am to 12 pm in collaboration with the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) Library and Sarawak Islamic Complex.

According to a statement issued by the organisers during the event, the programme was organised as an effort towards cultivating reading initiatives with the aim of making the library a relevant organisation in education after school hours.

Besides this, the programme also aims to create an efficient synergy between the 13 state public libraries throughout Malaysia with the Department of Education, other relevant departments and agencies at the state as well as national level.

All levels of society in the state who participated in the programme are encouraged to upload their photos on social media and utilise the hashtag #Jombacaswk2023 as well as tag Sarawak State Library and DBKU Library on their official social media pages.
