SARIKEI: A total of 1,597 Form 4 and Form 5 students are expected to be jabbed at the Dewan Suarah Sarikei vaccination centre (PPV).
A spokesman for the Sarikei Divisional Disaster Management Committee said this when contacted by the Information Department (JaPen), on Thursday (Sept 9).
The administration of vaccines for teenagers aged 16 and 17 started on Wednesday and will commence til on Sept 12.
Most of the students vaccinated are from six secondary schools within the Sarikei District.
On Wednesday, the PPV gave vaccines to 215 students from SMK Bandar and 237 students from SMK Sarikei Bau. They targeted to vaccinate 320 students from SMK Sg Paoh, today.
Those who are eligible but do not attend school can opt for a ‘walk-in’ at the PPV for the vaccine.
Meanwhile,eligible students under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (Emco) area, or at quarantine centres (QCs), Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs) or warded,an appointment will be arranged for them later, according to a spokesperson.
A total of 58 Health Officers, People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Health Volunteers and Non-Health Volunteers operated the PPV.
