KUCHING: Accommodations at Bako National Park will be temporarily closed for visitors from June 4 until further notice.

Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said that the temporary closure is due to water supply disruption.

“SFC would like to apologise for any inconveniences and would like to thank you for your kind understanding and patience,” it said in a Facebook post.

However, the good news is that the park is open as usual and visitors can still visit the park during day time.

Located about 40km away from Kuching, Bako National Park was established in 1957, and it covers the northern tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula, an area of 27 sq km.

The park features multiple biomes, including rainforest, abundant wildlife, jungle streams and waterfalls, secluded beaches, and trekking trails.
