The jogger finally got her mobile phone back.

MIRI: A female jogger was ‘robbed’ of her handphone by a wild monkey at the Grand Old Lady in Canada Hill here on Wednesday evening.

Firemen use long ladders to climb the palm tree to retrieve the woman’s phone.

According to the woman, she had just finished jogging around the area late that evening and was sitting on the track beside a bush when an adult monkey showed up and snatched her phone worth nearly RM2,000.

The monkey then climbed up a nearby palm tree where it left the phone before fleeing the scene.

Fellow joggers who saw the woman in distress called the Miri Fire Department for assistance.

Seven firemen from Miri central fire station were deployed to the scene at 6.55pm. They managed to climb to the top of the tree with the use of long ladders to retrieve the phone left there by the monkey. It was, after all, just a monkey’s business!
