KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin is urging political parties involved in the upcoming six-state election in Peninsular Malaysia not to use sensitive issues like race, religion, and royalty (3R) to gain support.
Instead, he advocated promoting essential values such as mutual respect, dialogue, consensus, consultation, and tolerance to prevent society from becoming more divided.
Yap suggested that proposing fair and effective policies in the election manifesto could help create a positive and inclusive future for all.
In another development, he successfully secured funding under the state government’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to upgrade three recreation parks with a total allocation of RM350,000.
During a briefing, he requested the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) to expedite the construction works for three recreation parks: Lorong Jalan Semaba 2B2, Lorong Semaba 7, and Taman Rekreasi Olive Garden, Mile 7.
Wilfred emphasised the importance of delivering the benefits of the park upgrades on schedule for the residents.
He added that this initiative is crucial as it encourages healthier and more active lifestyles while also improving property values.
