KUCHING: Datuk Lily Yong retained her post uncontested as Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching branch chairperson at the branch’s Triennial General Meeting (TGM) last Sunday.

In a press conference held later, she said 45 committee members were elected unopposed, as were 31 Central Committee (CC) delegates, with eight of them being chosen as CC members.

“We anticipate everyone being enthusiastically devoted and eager to achieve the goal of speaking for the people and promoting SUPP’s positive image.

“Everything went nicely, and we were able to keep some of our existing members alongside the newcomers.

“I hoped that by bringing in a group of extremely experienced and dynamic people, we would be able to bring them all together.

“In addition, I also encouraged the veteran members to return and contribute to the branch,” she pointed out.

According to Yong, the selection process was very comprehensive, and diverse persons who played vital roles in their respective positions were carefully elected.
