KUCHING: After consecutive days of positive Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak the state finally returned to zero case on Sunday (Oct 11).

Thus, the state’s total number of positive cases remained at 751.

In a statement issued today, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) revealed that Lawas has turned into a green zone after no new positive cases were detected or reported for the past 14 days.

“The districts that still remained yellow are Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Lubok Antu,” it said.

According to SDMC, Sarawak has two active clusters — Bah Arnab Cluster in Kuching and Putra Cluster in Bintulu.

“Bah Arnab Cluster has four cases while Putra Cluster recorded five cases, it added.

The statement also informed the public regarding a cluster whose name was wrongly reported previously.

“The cluster name — Taman Putrajaya Cluster —announced recently has been renamed Putra Cluster to avoid confusion with the name Putrajaya that refers to the nation’s administrative Centre,” SDMC stressed.

Besides, it also stated that no fully recovered Covid-19 patient was discharged from any hospital state-wide. The total number of recoveries in the state remains at 685 or 91.21 percent out of the overall cases.

“There was no case undergoing treatment at any intensive care unit (ICUs) today. Meanwhile, 47 patients are still receiving treatment and being isolated in hospitals — 28 at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), eight in Miri Hospital, seven at Bintulu hospital, and four at Sibu hospital.

“As for person-under-investigation (PUI) cases, two were reported with no case awaiting laboratory test results.

“Last but not least, no deaths were reported, making the death toll in the state unchanged at 19 or 2.53 percent out of the total cases,” it said.
