19,000 needy senior folk to get CNY goodies

SIBU: STM Lottery Sdn Bhd is ushering in the Year of the Rabbit with an angpow donation campaign which will benefit over 19,000 needy senior citizens in the country.

The company formerly known as Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd is  resuming its donation campaign in a big way this year.

“In the past two years, the donation campaign had been made into small private donation exercises due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Beginning Jan 12, the six-day donation campaign would be held in 48 cities and towns nationwide”,  STM Lottery said in a statement released at the donation campaign held at the premises of the Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday (Jan 14).

Sibu which was selected as one of the 48 locations for the donation campaign saw 350 needy senior citizens  presented with angpows and mini hampers.

Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting handed out the ang pows and mini hampers to the beneficiaries.

Also present at the presentation ceremony were STM Lottery area sales officer for Sibu, Hayden Pau Siao Loong and STM Lottery’s senior executive Theva Ganesh.

To date, STM Lottery has contributed over RM24.3 million, benefitting more than 437,000 senior citizens nationwide since the inception of the donation campaign in 1988.
