KUCHING: Police have issued 34 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the police will continue to carry out operations to enforce the SOPs in public places and those who are found to be violating the SOPs will be issued a compound notice on the spot.

Kuching recorded the most compounds issued with 14, followed by Miri (12), Mukah (seven) and one in Kota Samarahan.

“The police also arrested four individuals where the first arrest was a man who had defied the home quarantine order in Bintulu. The man was arrested and ordered to undergo home quarantine.

“Meanwhile in Lawas, three men were arrested for drunkenness and misconduct at the district’s police station,” the committee said in a statement.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 63 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils,” the committee said.
