BINTULU: The people are urged to unite in support of the state government’s efforts towards achieving ‘High Integrity State’ by 2030.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said the cooperation of all parties to inculcate and practise good moral values could help Sarawak achieve the objective.

The Jepak assemblyman also reminded the public especially civil servants to perform their duties by serving the people diligently and with high integrity.

“We must practise integrity as a way of life, have a clean heart and avoid corruption,” he said when officiating at the Similajau Integrity Walk held at the Similajau National Park here yesterday.

About 400 participants comprising civil servants, members of non-governmental organisations and local communities took part in the walk.

The programme was divided into three activities, namely beach walk and plogging; leisure (viewpoint) walk and extreme walk.

Other activities included tree planting involving varsity students and public and private learning institutions, colouring contests for kindergartens and preschool children.

The event was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of environmental protection and maintaining a healthy lifestyle  as well as fostering a culture of integrity.

Among those present were Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi, SFC chief executive officer Zolkipli Mohamad Aton and Bintulu District officer Mohamad Dino Amid.
