KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang visited the victims of the CityOne Megamall gas explosion at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here yesterday.

During the visit, Lo said at the moment all the victims were in a stable condition.

“I have visited 14 victims, some are badly burnt but they are all recovering,” he said.

Lo, who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, said financial aids have been given to some of the victims, while others would receive assistance from Tabung Bailtulmal Sarawak (TBS).

“I understand the public also gave cash through the hospital staff. This shows that during a tragedy like this we must all come together regardless of race and religion.”

Last night (December 6), Lo also paid his last respects to 24-year-old Tchee Kiam Jong at the Mile 7 Community Hall. Tchee was among the three who were killed in the blast.

Meanwhile, State Health Department director Dr Jamilah Hashim, said that currently all the victims were receiving medical treatment at the hospital, with 20 at SGH, nine at the Borneo Medical Centre (BMC), and two at Timberland Medical Centre (TMC). Ten of those at SGH had already been discharged.
